Torrance Memorial Medical Center is a non-profit, stand-alone medical center with a 401-bed capacity. The Medical Center is one of only 26 hospitals nationwide to receive the Gold Performance Achievement Award for 2012 from the National Cardiovascular Data Registry.

The new plant was completely rebuilt to meet current seismic standards. Cannon Building performed planning, preconstruction, construction, startup and commissioning services without interrupting hospital operations. The central plant houses administrative offices for facilities maintenance and plant operations, including maintenance shops.
